BY-LAWS
Twin Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary
Established July 1996
Article I-Name
This organization shall be known as the Twin Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary.
Article II-Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be:
A. To provide financial assistance to the Twin Mountain Fire Department and Twin Mountain Ambulance Squad for the purchase of equipment deemed necessary and advisable and as requested in writing by the Fire Chief or Assistant Chief.
B. To provide assistance to the members of the Twin Mountain Fire Department and Twin Mountain Ambulance Squad at times of emergencies, as requested by the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, or Lieutenants.
C. To provide assistance to the members of the Twin Mountain Fire Department and Twin Mountain Ambulance Squad during regional drills, or training, as requested by the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, or Lieutenants. Requests by the Fire Department or Ambulance Squad for assistance of the Auxiliary, other than those noted, should be made to the President directly, or the Vice President in the President’s absence, by the Fire Chief or Assistant Chief. Such requests will be reviewed and determined on a case by case basis at the discretion of the President.
Article III-Members
A: Active Members: All residents of the Town of Carroll who are 16 years of age or over are eligible for Active Membership upon their verbal acceptance of these By-Laws and their pledge to support the organization, which shall also determine their voting privileges.
B. No member of the Twin Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary shall go to the scene of an emergency without first reporting to the station and obtaining authorization from the person in charge.
Article IV-Meetings
A. The Annual Meeting shall be held at the Twin Mountain Fire Station or some other designated meeting place during the month of November, with notice as to Date, Time, Place and Purpose forwarded to all members. At each annual meeting:
• The Secretary, the Treasurer, and Committee Chairmen shall present their annual reports of their respective offices.
• The By-Laws shall be read and accepted.
• Officers for the ensuing year shall be elected,
B. The regular monthly meeting of the Twin Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary shall be held at the Twin Mountain Fire Station, or some other designated meeting place, at which meetings the elected officers shall present their monthly reports. Notice as to date, time, place and purpose of a monthly meeting shall be forwarded by telephone or mail to all members with voting privileges when there is to be an expenditure of funds in excess of $100.
Article V-Officers
The President shall appoint committees as necessary.
The officers shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Terms of office shall be for a period of one year or until their successors are elected. A. President: The President shall preside at all meeting of the Twin Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary and exercise general supervision over the affairs of the organization, appoint committees as necessary, conduct affairs of the organization according to the By-Laws and as required by votes of the membership.
B. Vice President: The Vice President shall perform the duties that from time to time the President may assign and shall preside at all meetings whenever the President is unable to act.
C. Secretary: The Secretary shall keep an accurate record of all activities and affairs and shall present the same for the inspection of the officers and members at each monthly meeting; shall attend to serve notice of special and annual meetings; shall attend to correspondence; shall keep a record of the membership and have the duty of presenting these By-Laws to members as required, and other duties as may be requested by the officers or members.
D. Treasurer: The Treasurer of this organization shall keep an accurate record of all funds received and expended and shall present the same at each and every called meeting; shall have as a duty of the office the principal handling and maintenance of any and all checking accounts and savings accounts and shall make disbursements or acceptance of accounts as necessary.
Article VI-Amendment
These By-Laws may be amended or revised by a majority vote of those members with voting privileges at any regular monthly meeting after each member has been duly notified as to the purpose of such meeting.
Article VII-Dissolution
Should the members of the Twin Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary vote to dissolve this organization, any monies held in any checking account or savings account or assets of the organization shall be disposed of at the discretion of the membership.
